Lucas Carpenter returned to Boston April 12 at All Asia in Cambridge, along with Ben Carter and Jared Salvatore.

Lucas Carpenter stopped by the All Asia in Cambridge during his tour (he’s playing in CT tonight), and put on an incredible show, just like the last time he played with us August 7th at the concert series. Joining him onstage was Jared Salvatore‘s band, an incredible 4-piece from boston (you can expect to see them this summer), and our old friend Ben Carter. All three acts put on amazing shows, despite the tight time constraints, and Lucas had the whole crowd singing along to a bunch of his own songs, which must be an incredible feeling for a musician.

Make sure you come check out the Ben Carter this Thursday night at Sweetwater Cafe – it’s 21+, but it’s free! We also have show there for the next couple Thursdays, so check out our rad schedule (which is pretty packed after these few years of working really hard to eventually have a consistent schedule…that’s a self pat on the back right there).

Summer is inching ever-closer, so make sure you check out the SCHOOL’S OUT SUMMER CONCERT SERIES for the best indie music right in Plymouth, Mass. It’s going to be an incredible summer.

Last summer, Lucas Carpenter conquered the Plymouth Waterfront main stage with his infectious songs and awe-inspiring showmanship. Now, in just a couple weeks the Philly-based Berkelee grad is back in the area for what will surely be an amazing show. Lucas will be playing at ALL ASIA in Cambridge April 12th . Our good friend and local crowd-pleaser Ben Carter will open the show, which starts at 8pm.

On the other-Boston-shows front, starting April 8th we will be producing Singer-Songwriter Thursdays at Sweetwater Cafe (3 Boylston Place, by the Common). What a show we had last night. Wow. From right before the show when Seth McFadyen and Ben Carter went outside of Sweetwater into the street and played “Semi Charmed Life” and “Island In the Sun”, to Ben unplugging his guitar and singing Jewel on a chair in the middle of the crowd, to Shaun Dever leading a group amorphous jam of “What I Got”, this show was something else.

Last night at Sweetwater Cafe in Boston, Shaun Dever, Ben Carter, and Seth McFadyen rocked the crowd for an incredible night of wild acoustic jams and packed-room sing-alongs. At one point, Ben even called a girl from the crowd, sat her in a chair in front of him and played a song for her – she apparently was from Switzerland, which led Ben to thank her by saying, “Welcome to America.” Seth put on a great last-minute opening set, and Shaun rounded off the night with his rad tunes and some more great sing-along jams.

Last night we were giving out little flyers for a FREE DOWNLOAD of the Brewster Sessions, Volume 1 sneak peek album. More on the actual album later. But for now, go download the 6-song album for free here: brewsterproductions.bandcamp.com.

TONIGHT: Jake Hill and Greg Loftus will be playing at Sweetwater for the launch party of TRANZMISSION, the indie music blog of Ryan Wood. If you come tonight, you can get your digital hands on a free download of Greg Loftus’ EP courtesy of Tranzmission.

We’ve got 2 amazing shows this weekend: On Friday, Shaun Dever will rocking the stage, freshly back from a surfing excursion to Costa Rica. He’ll be joined by our good friends Ben Carter and Nick Amendolare. Then on Saturday, we’ve got the big Boston launch party for TRANZMISSION, a great indie music blog by our friend Ryan Wood – that show will feature JAKE HILL and GREG LOFTUS. This is all going down at Sweetwater Cafe in Boston: 10pm, 21+, $5 cover. See our SHOWS page for more info and other shows!

FREE STUFF?? Yes, that’s right. Just last week, Ben Carter joined us in the studio for The Brewster Sessions, and tomorrow Shaun will be doing the same. We’ve also got a few Brewster Session tracks from Nick A that we recorded during the summer. SO, if you come to the show on Friday, you’ll get a free mini-album sample download of The Brewster Sessions, Volume 1 (which we’re working on for release this summer….stay tuned). If you come to the show, we’ll give you a little piece of paper with a code on it and you can download it from our forthcoming online music store.

Ben Carter just joined us in the studio for The Brewster Sessions. Listen a sneak peak below.

First things first: This weekend, we’ve got 2 crazy shows in Boston. You’ve been hearing a lot about these recently, but here they are again. The Okay Win rocks the house tomorrow 3/12 with their raucous indie rock sound, and Saturday 3/13, 3rd Left will jam the night away like only they can – BOTH SHOWS are at Sweetwater Cafe in Boston. Both shows are at 10pm, 21+ and have a $5 cover.

Then the other big thing going on this weekend is the NIKE INDOOR NATIONALS indoor track meet at the Reggie Lewis Center in Boston. We’ll be up bright ‘n’ early tomorrow, Saturday, and Sunday, providing the sound production for guest DJ Stephen Infascelli and the other announcers at the national high school indoor track meet. Yeah, it’s a big meet. Like reeeeal big. We’ll be tweeting about it throughout the weekend to let the world know how its going. And if you want to see some great races and events featuring the best high school athletes the good ol’ USA has to offer, then come on down and check out the meet. Here’s the schedule.

In other news, yesterday, Ben Carter was in the studio with us recording another installment of THE BREWSTER SESSIONS. It was a great time, and inspired some really cool ideas that we’ll be revealing soon. They may or may not involve a CD and the summer concert series. Howdy everyone,

We all had an awesome time last night at Sweetwater Cafe in Boston with Ben Carter, Darren Hawe, Seth McFadyen, and a surprise acoustic appearance by The Eagle Hill Band. Everyone was dancing and singing along to some great chunes played by all. I guess I don’t have much else to write about it, except that it was wicked fun. Check out the photos!

Tomorrow’s show (2/6/2010) at Sweetwater Cafe in Boston with Ben Carter, Darren Hawe, and Seth McFadyen is going to be a great one. We’ve even heard there might be an acoustic cameo from the Eagle Hill Band.

The folk-poppy stylings of Ben, Darren, and Seth are sure to get cozy downstairs of Sweetwater singing along tomorrow night, and you definitely want to be part of the show. It’s 21+ with a $5 cover, so if you can make it, do what Ernie Boch Jr. says and come on down! (awkward beckoning wave here)

In related news, Ben Carter will be recording and putting out an acoustic EP with a little help from Brewster Productions – we’re really excited about it, and you can bet he’ll be testing out some cool new stuff at the show. Ben and Darren rocked Club Passim in Cambridge the other night, and Ben was caught working on a song (see the photo) – so I’ll say it one more time: Don’t miss the show!

Good afternoon everyone in Brewsterland!

We’ve just added some great new songs to our FEATURED MUSIC player (look to the right –>) and we’re really excited to tell everyone. There are some of our old standby artists, plus two brand new (sort of) tracks off “The Brewster Sessions, Vol. 1″, which is a new thing we’ve been trying to launch for a while where artists come into the studio with us and do a live-recorded session. The first one we did was with Shaun Dever, Seth McFadyen, and Nick Amendolare, and it turned out to be a really fun time with each of the guys doing a few songs, then we miked the whole room with some overhead mics and had a big sing-along party (Andrew Carleen, Harry Quinn, and myself were also there). They aren’t the prettiest recordings ever, but it was a good time. Here’s what we’ve got for the new featured music:

• “Bloodshot Eyes” by Ben Carter, who will be playing at Sweetwater Cafe this Saturday 2/6/10. This is a demo of a song he’s going to be recording for an acoustic EP (more news on that soon).
• “Forget Your Name” by The Release. These guys are awesome, and you should go download their songs. You’ll likely be seeing them again this summer at the concert series.
• “Heave To” by Jake Hill. The title track off his 2008 album. This is a great song about facing death and all that, and it’s got some great horns and electric guitar. A rockin’ gritty folk song.
• “Path Of the Enemy” by The Eagle Hill Band. Another song off EHB’s 2009 release “In Cahoots”.
• “She’s A Drug” by Nick Amendolare, from “Brewster Sessions, Vol. 1″. A few swears in this one, so watch out if you have a sensitive disposition.
• “Heaven Is A Halfpipe” cover performed by Seth, Shaun, and Nick on “Brewster Sessions, Vol. 1″. This was just a fun one, with everyone singing along in the studio and making weird noises and having a good time. A few bad words in this one too.
