“The Real Kris Kringle” kicks off the holiday season along with a great benefit CD, take a listen!

Screen shot 2009-11-30 at 8.50.59 PMMerry December everyone!

It’s just about that time a year to get out the jingle bells and wrapping paper, so what better way to kick off the season and help out some people than to put out a benefit CD. Mark Bryant, of Plimro Records (Jake Hill, Patmos Brothers Revival), COOL102, and some other cool cats put together a 22-band Christmas benefit CD featuring the likes of local favorites 3rd Left, Jake Hill, Shaun Dever and more.

Featured on the CD is a new song by a new band, featuring 4 of our good friends: Shaun Dever, Nick Amendolare (both formerly of Comboguy, and Shaun frequents our stages), Nate Cristofori (you’ve seen him on the waterfront with his piano), and Tyler Kinsherf (formerly of our old friends, the Side Street Bandits). The band, The Juicebox Graduates, and the song, “The Real Kris Kringle”. You can check it out right here at Brewster Productions! http://www.brewsterproductions.com/kringle .

The sale of the CD will benefit the Cranberry Hospice and the Fragile Footprint Pediatric Palliative Care Program. Here’s the tracklist: http://www.thecheapseats.net/a_christmas_miracle-back.jpg

There are going to be a few release parties in Plymouth and Hyannis, and we’ll let you know more about how to purchase the CD.

Happy shopping!

Come on in, we’re open for business! Welcome Brewster’s new home online.

brewster-metal-benblend_webWell hello to all you out in Brewster Productions land,

We’ve been working for a while on our brand new Web site, and we’re pretty proud of it – please take a look around and enjoy. This week we are wrapping up our 2nd season of the School’s Out Summer Concert Series, and making a smooth transition into the fall, so get ready for some great things to come!

Starting this fall, not only will we keep doing more shows all around New England, but we are officially open for business and offering sound production and promotion services for hire! We’re really excited about this – so the next time you’re putting on a big (or small) party, a charity event, a road race, a keynote speaker, corporate picnic, etc. and need a band or just a PA to get you heard….come to us. We’re experienced, enthusiastic, efficient, and best of all: CHEAP. Like really cheap.

So, let’s take a look at a few new things on the site. On the right side, you’ll see our schedule which will be constantly updated so check back, links to our concert series and good friends, a google advertisement, a place for your business to advertise (like everything else, cheap), and our Twitter feed. On the top navigation bar, you can check out our services, media (photos, video, audio), get in touch with us, and find out more about us.

Plymouth Rock Studios! It’s a reality. No, I’m dead serious. Really.

Last night, the Fall 2008 Plymouth Town Meeting voted 126 to 3 to approve a zoning amendment allowing for the construction of Plymouth Rock Studios, which will be the largest installation of the film industry in the country outside California. Ground-breaking is scheduled for Spring 2009.

This is absolutely incredible news not only for the east coast film industry, but for the town of Plymouth. The massive property taxes paid by the studio will help propel the school system to the level it should be at; waning tourism brought on by various economic troubles will likely skyrocket; and there will be 1,500 union jobs created merely for the construction of the studio campus. PRS says there will be 2,000 new jobs created by the presence of the studio.

Cape Cod Times

This is an older one, but I’m in the lede, so it’s pretty sweet:
‘Technicolor dreams soar in Plymouth’ – Boston Globe 5/2008

Also, here’s a letter to editor I wrote in January:
‘Studio best thing to happen’ – Old Colony Memorial 1/2008

Since this will be creating a significant presence of the entertainment industry in Plymouth, which has been in the midst of a cultural revival in recent years, Brewster Productions fully and emphatically supports this project. Its impact on not only our alma mater, Plymouth South High School (the studio will be replacing neighboring golf course Waverly Oaks), but the entire Plymouth Public School system only makes the fact that this project is actually happening all the more surreal.

We ask that everyone continue to offer the overwhelming support shown in the past several months, and remember that the ‘east-coast culture’ will not be lost on this so-called “Hollywood East.” It seems to be the goal of the guys in charge to integrate rather than impose. In other words, Plymouth won’t become LA. So no worries.

Keep it real everyone. We’ll have more concert-related updates soon.

8/21/08 It keeps you running: Welcome to Foss.

We just got back from a fun trip up to New Hampshire and Foss Running Camp, where Stephen Infascelli performed to a great audience of future and current cross-country running champs. Infascelli, a counselor at the camp, played an extra-long set and even had a few campers come up and play. We had great time rockin’ out by the campfire and sleeping on the floor of a cabin with the St. John’s XC team. Look for photos at some point in the near future.

7/27/08 Happy Birthday to us!

Yes today is Brewster Productions’ 1st birthday. So congrats to us for being so cool.
….The acoustic show last night went great, and we’ll be back in the same spot this friday 8/1 with Chris Albert and The Works. It should be awesome. We’re going to be looking to do a ton of shows (mostly of the indoor type) starting in September, so if you’d like to get in on all that, let us know. More on that later. G’day.

1/29/08 Summer Concert Series!

It’s official: the School’s Out! Summer Concert Series is ON! Brewster Productions will be presenting a 5-week free concert series in July and August to raise awareness of the importance of public education AND to bring some life to the Plymouth Waterfront on Friday nights. Here are the dates: 7/11, 7/25, 8/1, 8/8 and Schoolhouse Rock ’08 on 8/15. We don’t have any official lineups yet, so if you are in a band and want to play, send us an e-mail. We’ll be having a few theme nights too, so if your band is made up of current or former students at Plymouth North or South high school, or if you are an acoustic artist, get in touch!
