And we’re off! A great opening night kicks off the summer shows.

The Eagle Hill Band capped off the show on Friday 5/28 at the Hedge House, kicking off a summer of great tunes.

Friday night was a great success and kicked off what is sure to be an amazing summer of music. We got a bit of a late start (Hedge House shows will regularly run til about 9pm), but the crowd stuck around and we all had a great time. Check out the photos and get ready for the next show: June 4 @ the Hedge House with Jeff Conley and Brian Carroll.

Also a huge thank you to everyone who came out and donated! We’re also excited to announce the return of a great sponsor from last year: Seabreeze Inn Bed & Breakfast!

Happy Memorial Day!

Ben Carter (and a bunch of little kids) + more rock the 3rd

ben-carter_1While all the older youngins of Plymouth were fightin’ the power at White Horse Beach last night, we discovered that Fourth of July Weekend in Plymouth Center equals family weekend, including all the smallest youngins of America’s Hometown.

It also turns out that ‘family weekend’ means hordes of small children…..and as soon as our headliner, Ben Carter, let one of the smaller audience members take the mic on ‘Don’t Stop Believing’, the floodgates opened to an untamed sea of “Mary Had A Little Lamb,” “Twinkle Twinkle Little Star,” and the “ABCs”. Countless kids took the mic between Ben’s songs and turned the show into half Ben Carter, half children’s classics revue. One of the highlights was a young boy’s rendition of “Leaving On A Jet Plane” – he knew the entire song by hear. It was awesome.

ben-carter_5_kid-singingEveryone had a great time all day and into the night as the audience was entertained by Doug Logan, Lights Out Riga, Willie Dinardo, and the upside-down-guitar-playing Jesse Boncek.

The show was also a benefit for the Plymouth Antiquarian Society, and we raised a decent amount of money through donations. Thanks to everyone for coming out!

doug-logan_1NEXT WEEK we have a great show, co-presented by ‘Take Me To Your Music,’ the music blog by Ryan Wood. The lineup: Greg Loftus, Gaslight Revival, Stephen MacDonald, and Jessi Milch – exact times coming soon.

Come on down to Plymoth today (click here for the OCM article about things going on this weekend). Stay tuned, and keep supporting local music!

Keep it real, happy 4th of July.
