The School’s Out Summer Concert Series utilizes a small network of close friends and siblings to staff its all-volunteer shows. Everyone from the bands to the sound guy  are there for fun, exposure or experience, but certainly not money. Here’s some info about the people helping to entertain you.

Founders:

Scott McEwen, 23,  attended Plymouth South High School, where he graduated in 2005 as an award-winning carpentry student in the technical program. He works in the southeastern Massachusetts area as a carpenter, at the Belfry Inn and the Pilgrim Sands Motel,  and manages Brewster Productions, where his duties include sound and lighting engineer, stage manager and equipment manager. Jon Dorn, 23, is a graduate student at Emerson College in Boston, where he is working toward a Master of Fine Arts in film and sound production. When not in school, Jon works works as an art teacher in the B-SAFE kids summer program in Dorchester and Mattapan, and as a staff member at the Plymouth waterfront Visitor’s Center, among others. He is also a weekly editorial cartoonist for the Old Colony Memorial, and is currently working on a documentary film project with the Plymouth Antiquarian Society. Harry Quinn, 23, is a graduate student at University of Massachusetts Lowell working toward a Master of Education. He plans to work in secondary education. When away from school, Harry works as a substitute teacher in the Plymouth public school system and volunteers with the Red Cross. TEAM BREWSTER
We’ve got an incredible team here at Brewster Productions and the School’s Out Summer Concert Series. These guys and gals are always helping to promote shows, lug stuff around, sell t-shirts, and set up equipment. In alphabetical order:

Shaun Dever, 23, is a substitute teacher in Plymouth, and a recent graduate of Plymouth State University. He handles a lot of our graphic art work, like posters and some web stuff, and is one of our regular performers. Check out his site: www.shaundever.com.

Courtney Doherty, 22, is a student at Suffolk University Law School in Boston. At Brewster Productions, she devotes hours to volunteering at the summer concert series, helps with promotion, and endures Jon’s constant shameless Brewstering.

Alex Dorn, 20, is a student at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, NY studying architecture and, as a by-product, sleep deprivation. At Brewster Productions, Alex devotes hours to volunteering at the summer concerts and helps with promotion.

Melanie Dorn, 17, is a student at Plymouth South High School where she is the student council executive board president. At Brewster Productions, Melanie devotes hours volunteering at the summer concerts and helps with promotion.

Erin Hollenbeck, 22, is a recent graduate of Bridgewater State College, where she studied elementary education. She currently works as a substitute teacher in the Plymouth Public Schools. At Brewster Productions, Erin devotes hours to volunteering at the summer concerts and helps with promotion.

Amy Knoblock, 21, is a student at Keene State College in New Hampshire where she is a member of the cross country team. Amy devotes hours volunteering at the summer concerts and helps with promotion.
