Local favorites rock the night away …and now for the half-time break.
Last night 3rd Left, Jake Hill, and the Eagle Hill Band rocked the socks off the Plymouth waterfront with an attendance of 200-300 people. It was a great show, and tons of people of ALL ages came out and danced the night away (from the tiny kids dancing on the grass, to parents and grandparents, to the 20-somethings who were pulled away from the bars).
Now it’s time for us to take a short intermission. Scott, Harry, me, and the rest of the Brewster crew will be taking a couple weeks off from the concert series, and we’ll be back in full force on August 7th. And kicking off our first weekend back will be a big name in recent alternative music, Mark Rose. You may know him as the lead singer of the recently disbanded Spitalfield (Victory Records) – he’s touring the Midwest and East Coast, and believe it or not, he’s making a stop here on 8/7 to play the Hedge House. His touring partner, Lucas Carpenter, will be playing, as well as two awesome local guys, Jesse Boncek and Ben Carter.
Then the very next day, the Eagle Hill Band will be celebrating their debut album release (after 5 years playing together) at the waterfront main stage with a big show also featuring one of coolest, most awesome bands around: The Release. Under their former name, 3 Feet Short, they played with the likes of Catch 22, Goldfinger, Monty Are I, and many more. They’ve played the Middle East Downstairs a number of times, not to mention places like Harper’s Ferry and a ton of other great venues. I’ll go on about them more in the coming weeks, but we’ve done shows with them before and they’re ridiculously talented and awesome people. I digress.
Like I said before, we’ll be back in full force on Friday, August 7th. Until then, stay tuned for updates here, and we’ll probably be getting our awesome new pins in, which can be purchased over PayPal.
Thank you again to everyone who has come out to the shows and made so many generous donations – the money has been crucial in making the concert series great and will help us to constantly improve.
Keep it real,
Jon
